After serving for six years at YWAM Kona and three and a half years at YWAM Colorado Springs, our entire family will be relocating to South Korea in early August 2026 to begin a new season of ministry.

Since 2013, we have carried a vision for ministry in North Korea and Japan. However, after Joe suffered a concussion in 2016, a long season of recovery followed, and that vision was set aside for a time. During those years, Kyungjin faithfully served in full-time work and ministry, while Joe focused on recovery, family life, and caring for our children.

Recently, an opportunity to serve at a retreat for North Korean pastors opened a new door for ministry. Through our relationships with these pastors, we gained a fresh understanding of the importance of ministry among North Korean defectors and the churches they have established throughout South Korea. We also received encouragement that Joe’s worship ministry and Kyungjin’s janggu performances could serve as meaningful forms of cultural ministry, helping to build bridges between North and South Korea.

Through this journey, we have experienced something similar to the vision of Ezekiel 37, where dry bones come to life. We have witnessed God revive a vision that had long been buried and forgotten.

We are currently in the process of being commissioned from the Colorado Springs base as long-term missionaries to Korea. Our new home will be the YWAM base in Janghowon, Icheon, Gyeonggi Province. From there, we hope to engage in ministry related to North Korea and Japan, youth and cultural outreach, prison ministry, and photography and media ministry.

In particular, prison ministry has emerged as a new opportunity through relationships that began during our time in Kona. Likewise, what began as a photography business has been reframed as a tool for ministry rather than simply a source of income.

Our entire family is united in this move to Korea and is preparing with faith and expectation for this new season of mission. We would be deeply grateful for your prayers and support as we step into this journey.

코나 YWAM에서 6년, 콜로라도 스프링스 YWAM에서 3년 반을 섬긴 후, 8월 초 가족 모두 한국으로 이주하여 새로운 사역의 길을 시작하게 되었습니다.

2013년부터 북한과 일본 선교의 비전을 품고 사역을 시작했지만, 2016년 Joe 형제의 뇌진탕 사고로 긴 회복의 시간이 이어지면서 그 비전은 한동안 멈춰 서게 되었습니다. 그 기간 동안 경진 자매는 풀타임으로 일과 사역을 감당했고, Joe 형제는 회복과 가정, 자녀 돌봄에 집중하며 시간을 보냈습니다.

최근 북한 목회자 리트릿을 섬기게 되면서 다시 사역의 문이 열렸고, 북한 목회자들과의 만남을 통해 탈북민 교회와 북향민 사역의 중요성을 새롭게 보게 되었습니다. 또한 Joe 형제의 찬양과 경진 자매의 장구를 통한 문화 사역이 남과 북을 연결하는 중요한 도구가 될 수 있다는 확신도 갖게 되었습니다.

이 과정을 통해 에스겔 37장의 말씀처럼 마른 뼈가 살아나는 회복을 경험하며, 오래 묻혀 있던 비전이 다시 살아나는 것을 보게 되었습니다.

현재는 콜로라도 스프링스 베이스에서 장기 파송 선교사로 한국으로 이동하며, 정착지는 경기도 이천 장호원 YWAM 베이스입니다. 이곳을 중심으로 북한과 일본 선교, 청년 문화 사역, 교도소 사역, 그리고 사진과 영상 사역을 이어가게 됩니다.

특별히 교도소 사역은 과거 코나에서의 인연을 통해 새롭게 연결된 길이며, 사진 비즈니스 역시 단순한 사업이 아닌 선교의 도구로 재정립하게 되었습니다.
